Rhonda Bennett is a proud resident of the Durham Region who cares deeply about the people in her community. With a history of working closely with individuals from all walks of life—community leaders, youth, and seniors alike—she is passionate about listening to their needs and helping their voices be heard. Whether she’s mentoring future leaders or creating programs to support seniors’ well-being, Rhonda is dedicated to building a stronger, more connected community.

Empowering & Inclusive Community

My approach is deeply rooted in collaboration and inclusion because I believe the best outcomes come when we work together and put people first. As a professor, I’ve had the privilege of inspiring and guiding thousands of students, helping them achieve their goals while emphasizing core values like integrity, empathy, creativity, and leadership. These experiences have shown me the power of education in shaping lives and creating opportunities.

In my corporate career, I’ve managed multi-million-dollar initiatives that have directly impacted communities, enhanced services, and improved quality of life. These roles have strengthened my ability to bring teams together, solve complex challenges, and deliver impactful results. Whether it’s mentoring students or leading projects, my focus is always on building connections, driving meaningful change, and creating solutions that benefit everyone involved.

BEYOND HER PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS

On a Personal Side

As a wife, a mother of two teenagers, and an aging parent,  I understand firsthand the joys and challenges that come with raising a family in today’s world. I know how important it is to have a community where families feel supported, where seniors can age with dignity, and where youth are given opportunities to thrive. These experiences fuel my passion for making Ajax a safe, inclusive, and thriving place that people of all ages are proud to call home.
 
Ajax is a town with immense potential and incredible people. My vision for our community is simple: I want to help build a town where everyone feels valued, supported, and empowered. From ensuring access to quality healthcare and affordable housing to addressing public safety and fostering economic growth, I am committed to creating opportunities that benefit all residents.​

Together, we can make Ajax a shining example of what happens when a community comes together to put people first.​
